Hi! Thank you for joining me
If you're reading this then you must love writing too. One of my worst fears is being stuck somewhere without a notepad, pen or reading book. Ideas pop into my mind anytime and anywhere so the pen and note pad are my constant companions.
Do you like strong, masterful heroes, who are able to show their vulnerable side to the heroine? So do I. Don't you just love the heroes of Fiona Brand and Suzanne Brockmann - cool, sexy and strong? If you were in a dangerous situation who better than to have one of them protecting you.
One of my own:
I've written a few medical romance books but let me tell you about Codename:
Kate - a romantic suspense novel.
Who Dares Wins is the motto of the UK Special Air service. Jem Travers dared and he won. Katherine (Kate) Crozier doesn't know he exists until he rescues her from certain death in Africa. Sparks fly, but not in the way he intended. When she becomes a killer's target, Jem acts as her bodyguard. From Hereford to Cornwall and New Zealand there's action all the way. More...
Amy's Diary 2011
25th April
My
computer had to go away to be fixed so I have been unable to write up
my blog for a few weeks. Thank goodness it was a loose cable in the
monitor and could be mended. I leave for Australia and to reunited with Barry on Friday. He has been in South Sudan. I gave a talk to some schoolchildren and the local Ladies Probus group about our work in Australia. It was out of my comfort zone but I think that's good.
Preparation for talking at a conference and having to speak in front of all those writers. Maybe one day...
On Monday I start a worshop about the male POV. Promises to be very interesting.
25th March
I
did meet up with one RWNZ member in Havelock North earlier this month.
Christine Harris and I spent an afternoon discussing medical romance. I
was so motivated that I entered in the medical romance pitch last week.
Then there was a live chat with Sheila Hodgson on Friday morning at
3am. Everyone who entered the pitch competition hears if their entry
was successful about the 28th March. Wish me luck!1st March
This
month I'm doing 2 workshops. The Passionate Ink workshop with Angela
Knight is about writing action sequences. Great as I enjoy writing
about SAS heroes. Also the RWA have a workshop with Lori Devoti on
Goal, Motivation and Conflict. A must for any writer.1st February
Life
has been busy on the work front so I haven't got a lot of writing done.
I am, however, putting an entry in the Clendon Award. Are you?I'm returning to New Zealand at the end of the month which I'm looking forward to. I'm the Hawke's Bay RWNZ convenor but unfortunately there are only a few of us. Hopefully we will be able to meet.
1st January
The Bob Mayer workshop was really good and you'll be able to see him for yourselves if you are coming to the RWA or RWNZ conferences this year. I'll be going to both which is a first time for me in 5 years. I am really looking forward to it.11th Oct 2010
I had a slight detour to the UK after Nairobi but have been in Northern Territory since April. Not a lot of writing has been done as work was so busy. Now I'm spending a few weeks in New Zealand just relaxing. It's amazing how your creative desire wanes when you're stressed and tired. After nearly two weeks of being home I feel like writing again.I've enrolled in a Bob Mayer workshop. He applies the strategies used by the Green Berets to help writers achieve success.
